Objectives
- To systematically evaluate the availability of data on long-term survivors of cancer in childhood and adolescence in the existing European databases.
- To establish a retrospective pan-European cohort of long-term survivors of childhood and adolescent cancer for whom the occurrence of at least one of the endpoints: cardiac disease, second primary tumours and late mortality have been or can be ascertained and validated.
- To provide datasets for the analyses described in WP3, 4, and 5.
- To construct a virtual pan-European database of late effects (storing which characteristics could be provided by individual databases (population-based registries and clinical datasources)) to enable access to retrospective and maybe also prospective data in timely fashion.
Providing childhood cancer survivors with better access to care and better long-term health
